Amblyomma breviscutatum Neumann, 1899
Host/habitat: Cattle, dogs, horses, human, pig, wild pigs.
Distribution: Viti Levu: Naqaranabuluti near Nadarivatu (Lever 1943; Miles 1967 apud Hoogstraal et al. 1968), Taveuni (Robinson 1926; Hoogstraal et al. 1968), unspecified (Munro 1978; Guglielmone et al. 2023).
Remarks: This species was recorded as Amblyomma cyprium by Lever (1943), Miles (1967), Swaine (1971), and Munro (1978), as Amblyomma quasicyprium by Robinson (1926), as Amblyomma acutangulatum by Swaine (1971) and Munro (1978). Watling (1977) noted that there were “probably larvae of Amblyomma cyprium ” on Pycnonotus cafer (red-vented bulbul) ( Aves: Passeriformes) from Sigatoka Valley, Viti Levu.
