Material examined. BRAZIL: HOLOTYPE ♂, Rondônia, Ouro Preto, 22.iii.1979, A.C. Mendes leg. (MCNZ) ; 1 ♀, Rondônia, Linea 10, 5 km S Caucalandia, ca 2 km W of B-65, Rio Pardo, 5–17.x.1993, L.B. & C.W. O'Brien leg. (JEEC) ; 1 ♂, Rondônia, 62 km Ariquemes, nr. Faz. Rancho Grande, 8–20.xi.1994, J.E. Eger leg. (JEEC) [NEW RECORD] .
Diagnosis. Disc of scutellum black. Urosternites of females entirely castaneous, urosternite VII with reddish spot medially; and of males, with black stripes medially and laterally, tubercle on urosternite III castaneous. Male genitalia: posterolateral angles of pygophore developed, setose; distal thirds of dorsal rim heavily depressed, inner wall of genital cup tumescent, triangular posteriorly, surpassing posterolateral angles of pygophore; ventral wall of pygophore with a deep, semicircular excavation; ventral rim sinuate, median third with a quadrate notch bearing a small process medially; parameres quadrate in dorsal view, juxtaposed along midline and covering segment X basally; distal margin of segment X with deep V-shaped notch, with each posterolateral angle produced posteriorly, acute apically. Female genitalia: gonocoxites 8 wider than long; sutural margins of gonocoxites 8 juxtaposed and parallel along basal 2/3; lateral margins of gonocoxites 8 straight; posterior margin of gonocoxites 9 convex; laterotergites 9 not surpassing tergite VIII.
