Elanela fernandesi sp. nov.

Material examined. HOLOTYPE, ♂, BRAZIL, Amazonas, Coari, PETROBRAS, RUC 25, Rio Urucu, 4º53'33"S 65º20'11.14"W, 02.xi.2008, J.A.M. Fernandes & Equipe coll. (MPEG) .
Etymology. fernandesi, genitive singular; honoring José Antônio Marin Fernandes from Universidade Federal do Pará, Belém, Brazil (UFPA) for his contribution to the knowledge of Pentatomidae .
Diagnosis. Ventral rim with 1+1 triangular projections, with narrow V-shaped notch medially. Parameres scythe-like; paramere head in right angle; parameres embracing segment X basally.
Description. Disc of scutellum black (Fig. 7). Urosternites mostly black, tubercle on urosternite III castaneous; lateral portion of each urosternite yellow. Each connexival sclerite mostly black, outer margin yellow. Proportion of antennal segments: I <II = III <IV = V.
Male genitalia. Pygophore quadrate, distal half depressed; posterolateral angles rounded (Fig. 19). Ventral wall of pygophore impressed ventrally; ventral rim with 1+1 rouded projections, with narrow V-shaped notch medially (Fig. 20). Parameres scythe-like; paramere head in right angle, rounded apically; parameres embracing segment X basally. Surface of segment X concave; each posterolateral angle produced, acute apically, slightly surpassing posterior margin of pygophore; distal margin with deep U-shaped notch.

Total length, 5.07; length of head, 0.67; head length ahead of eyes, 0.33; interocular distance, 0.77; length of antennal segments: I, 0.20; II, 0.57; III, 0.60; IV, 0.97; V, 1.20; width of head, 0.67; width of pronotum, 3.10; length of pronotum, 1.10; width of scutellum, 2.00; length of scutellum, 1.97; width of abdomen at third segment, 2.90.
