Neoecetes gen. nov.

Diagnosis. As Rhinoecetes, except ramus of uropod 3 conical (round in Rhinoecetes); gnathopod 2 carpus posterodistal projection with 2 robust setae (1); pereopods 5 and 6 carpus with short row of small accessory robust setae (1) in addition to long terminal one

Type species. Neoecetes conipes sp. nov., here designated.

Etymology. The genus name combines the Greek νέος (neos meaning new) followed by the family ending ‘oecetes’.
