Rheumatobates peculiaris Polhemus & Spangler

Material examined. COLOMBIA, Nariño, Tumaco, Mar Agrícola, 2 m, 22 VI 2010, leg. D. N. Padilla, all apterous, 5 M, 10 F (PSO-CZ); 4 M, 10 F (ICN). COLOMBIA, Nariño, La Espriella, Río Caunapi, 8 m, 30 I 2010, leg. N. Nicola, 1M apt.

Ecological notes. The habitat is characterized by air temperature 28 ºC, water temperature 29.5 ºC, pH 6, conductivity 458 S/m and dissolved oxygen 105%. This species was found in freshwater. Rheumatobates peculiaris has been collected syntopically with Limnogonus franciscanus (Stål, 1859), Micovelia longipes Uhler, 1894, and Trepobates taylori (Kirkaldy, 1899); and in another case with Microvelia pulchella Westwood, 1834), Micovelia longipes, and Trepobates taylori .
