Diagnostic characters of Pollenia hazarae: Males: eyes sub-holoptic, frons reduced to a fine line at the point of closet approximation, parafrontalia narrow, females: frons 1/3 rd of head width at the level of
antennae, face black, no golden pile on face or genae, epistome exceptionally developed, 2/5 th of head height viewed laterally, carina present, palpi black and subclavate (Fig. 1).
