Lepidium petraeum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 644. 1753.
"Habitat in Lapidosis Oelandiae, Angliae." RCN: 4682.
Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Nordic J. Bot. 22: 70. 2002): Herb. Linn. No. 824.7 (LINN) .
Current name: Hornungia petraea (L.) Rchb. ( Brassicaceae).
Note: Stearn (in Biol. J. Linn. Soc. 5: 11. 1973), in an account of Linnaeus’ Öland and Gotland journey of 1741, treated Bornholm in Öland as the restricted type locality, and noted the existence of 824.7 (LINN). In his paper, he attributed restricted type localities irrespective of whether any material existed in LINN and, where specimens do exist, he does not refer to any of them as type specimens. The collection subsequently designated as the type shows no annotation associating it with Öland .
