Type material.
Lectotype (NHMW). Not examined.
Diagnosis.
3.0 mm long (n = 1); 2.0 × as long as wide (Sittichaya et al. 2019). This species is distinguished by the unique declivital summit bearing four sharp spines that extend beyond the over the declivity.
Similar species.
None.
Distribution.
‘Borneo’, Indonesia (Java), East & West Malaysia, Thailand.
Host plants.
Recorded from Campnosperma ( Anacardiaceae), Garcinia ( Clusiaceae), Shorea leprosula, S. parvifolia ( Dipterocarpaceae), and Elaeocarpus ( Elaeocarpaceae) (Sittichaya et al. 2019).
Remarks.
Browne (1961b) notes that the species attacks small branches 1-5 cm in diameter. The gallery system usually encircles the stem and has one or two longitudinal branches in which the larvae develop (Browne 1961b).
