Lectotype (Wijnands in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 52. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 352, Heisteria 1 (BM-000646524) .

Current name: Muraltia heisteria (L.) DC. ( Polygalaceae).

Note: Polygala heisteria is homotypic with Heisteria pungens P.J. Bergius (1767), the generitype of Heisteria Linnaeus (1758), nom. rej. in favour of Heisteria Jacq. (1760) ( Olacaceae), nom. cons. Levyns (in J. S. African Bot., Suppl. 2: 216. 1954) indicated 882.33 (LINN) as lectotype, but this collection lacks the relevant Species Plantarum number (i.e. “13”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
