Current name: Premna serratifolia L. ( Lamiaceae).

Note: Premna Linnaeus, nom. cons. against Appella Adans.

Merrill (in Philipp. Isl. Bur. Sci. Publ. 9: 450. 1917) and Fosberg (in Taxon 2: 89. 1952) treated this as a superfluous name for Cornutia corymbosa Burm. f. (1768) but this is erroneous. Moldenke & Moldenke (in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 4: 343. 1983) indicated unspecified material at LINN as type, but did not distinguish between three sheets there. Munir’s 1984 type choice is therefore accepted here.
