Generitype of Pancratium Linnaeus.

Current name: Pancratium maritimum L. ( Liliaceae / Amaryllidaceae).

Note: Although Mill (in Davis, Fl. Turkey 8: 381. 1984) suggested that 413.3 (LINN) may be the basis of this name, the specimen is an Alströmer collection not received by Linnaeus until 1761. The lectotype figure was apparently itself based on "Narc. pancratium marinum flo. alb." Sweerts (Florilegium: t. 27. 1612).
