Aulacus grossi Jennings, Austin & Stevens, 2004
Aulacus grossi Jennings et al. 2004b: 19; Jennings 2010 [on-line checklist].
This species was described recently by Jennings et al. (2004b) from Victory Well, South Australia, near the Aboriginal community of Mimili in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (A.P.Y. Lands) in South Australia .
In addition to the description provided in Jennings et al. (2004b), a weak (narrow) occipital carina is present laterally, absent medially (this was coded correctly in the analyses of Turrisi et al. 2009); ovipositor guide medial and slightly oblique. See also comments above under A. bamagensis .
This small species (body 4.5 mm and ovipositor 4.2 mm in length) has the mesosoma and metasoma about equal in length, whereas other Aulacus species have the metasoma longer than the mesosoma.
