Neoperla stewarti Stark & Baumann, 1978

is widely distributed in the southeastern and midwestern United States and has been reported from adjacent states of Alabama, Tennessee (Stark 1990) and North Carolina (Lenat et al. 2009). This species was collected from a low elevation 4 th order stream in the Ridge and Valley Physiographic Province of northwestern Georgia.
