DISTRIBUTION: From the Cape of Good Hope to S Natal (South Africa), Lesotho, and Orange Free State.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Genetta . May be conspecific with maculata; see Crawford-Cabral (1966), Pringle (1977), Ansell (1978), Schlawe (1981), and Meester et al. (1986).
