TYPE LOCALITY: "Mianzini, Masailand, 8000 feet " (pg. 523). Restricted by Moreau et al. (1946:410) to "Mianzini... a few miles E.S.E. of Naivasha and on the southern end of the Kinangop Plateau... 9000 ft " [Kenya] .
DISTRIBUTION: C Kenya, SE Uganda.
STATUS: IUCN - Insufficiently known.
COMMENTS: Rosevear (1974) placed jacksoni in Galeriscus . Kingdon (1977) considered jacksoni conspecific with nigripes; however, Rosevear (1974) and Coetzee (1977b) noted skull and skin differences.
