COMMENTS: Osgood (1932), Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951), Coetzee (19776), and Meester et al. (1986) considered Amblonyx Rafinesque, 1832, as congeneric with Aonyx; here separated based on Harris (1968), van Zyll de Jong (1972, 1987), and Medway (1977).
