Glyptothorax honghensis Li 1984a ^ZBK: 66 [English p. 69]. Type locality: Hekou [town], Weishan [town], Nanjian [town], Hong River [= Yuan River?] basin, Yunnan Prov., China. Syntypes: KIZ 6440430 (1), 6440474 (1), 6507022 (1), 6507133 (1), 6507134 (1), 6507137 (1).

Distribution: Red River drainage, Vietnam, Laos and China (Li, 1984a; Chu et al., 1999; Kottelat, 2001a; Kottelat, 2001b).
