Type Locality: Malaysia (N Borneo), Sabah, Mt. Kinabalu, 5,500 ft. (1,833 m).

Vernacular Names: Borneo Fruit Bat.

Distribution: Brunei, Sabah, and Sarawak (Borneo).

Conservation: IUCN / SSC Action Plan (1992) – Indeterminate as A. alecto aequalis . IUCN 2003 – Not listed.

Discussion: Considered a subspecies of alecto by many authors, but see Kitchener et al. (1990) and Kitchener et al. (1993 a).
