Protaphorura sakatoi (Yosii, 1966)

Material examined: Iran: Mazandaran Province, Babol county, Filband forest, 1950 m a.s.l. (36º22ʹ12ʺ N, 52º30ʹ45ʺ E), soil and leaf litter, leg. Eliye Yahyapour, 25 August 2016, 1 male, 1 female and 5 juveniles . Tonekabon county, Dohezar forest, 443 m a.s.l. (36º40ʹ21.7ʺ, 50º49ʹ28.5ʺ E), soil and leaf litter, leg. Eliye Yahyapour, 10 November 2016, 1 male and 3 females .

Distribution and ecology. Eastern Palaearctic species. Already recorded in the Iranian provinces of Mazandaran, Golestan and Kermanshah (Shayanmehr et al. 2020). It was found mostly in forest soil and leaf litter.
