Note. – There are several syntypes mentioned (G.C. Pringle & C. Conzatti under no. Conzatti 231, G.C. Pringle 6713 and G.C. Pringle 5787). Greenman (1898) commented on differing foliar characters in the latter number, so we selected the most widely distributed gathering as the lectotype from the first two numbers. Most of the specimens have a branch from a pistillate and a staminate individual mounted together on the same sheet, so we assume that they are from the same gathering.
Taxonomic status: Probably a natural entity (monophylum) as currently defined (A).
