Type host: Phoeniculus purpureus (Coraciiformes: Phoeniculidae). Type locality: Rwanda.
Additional material. One female (NPF) and 1 female (PF) from Upupa epops epops Linnaeus (Coraciiformes: Upupidae), NEPAL: Khumbu, Chukhung (Himalayas, S. Mount Everest), elev. 4,800 m. a.s.l., 29 August 1962, all material in AMU; 2 females (PF) from same host species, MACEDONIA: Uskub, Ljubliana, 15 April 1918, coll. F. Doflein, all material in AMU; 1 female (PF) from same host species, KAZAKHSTAN: Semipalatinsk, 14 July 1922, coll. P. P. Schestowsky, specimen in AMU; 1 female (NPF) and 2 females (PF) from same host species, PAKISTAN: N.W. Frontier Prov., Malakand Div., Swat Distr., Yakh Tangai, 2,076 m. a.s.l., 23 April 1990, coll. S. M. Goodman, all material in FMNH.
Host range and distribution. Metastenoxenous species associated with the coraciiform birds (Coraciiformes): Phoeniculus purpureus (Muller) (Phoeniculidae) from Rwanda (Fain et al. 2000), Upupa epops africana Bechstein (Upupidae) from Tanzania (Skoracki & Hromada 2013) and U. e. epops Linnaeus from Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Nepal, and Pakistan (present paper).
