Picobia heeri Haller, 1878: 93; Skoracki 2011: 329, figs. 241–244; Skoracki et al. 2014: 71. Type material is lost (in Kethley: 65). Material from type host species from Poland, examined.

Type host: Picus canus Gmelin ( Piciformes: Picidae). Type locality: Switzerland.

Host range and distribution. Oligoxenous species associated with the woodpeckers of the genus Picus ( Piciformes: Picidae): P. canus Gmelin from Switzerland (Haller 1878) and Poland (Skoracki 2011), P. awokera Temminck from Japan, P. chlorolophus Vieillot from Nepal, P. erythropygius (Elliot) from Thailand, P. flavinucha Gould from India, P. puniceus Horsfield from Indonesia, P. squamatus Vigors from Nepal (Skoracki et al. 2014), and P. v i r i d i s Linnaeus from Poland (Skoracki 2011).
