Type host: Streptopelia capicola (Sundevall) ( Columbiformes: Columbidae). Type locality: South Africa.

Additional material. One female (PF) and 1 male from Columba livia ( Columbiformes: Columbidae), POLAND: Wielkopolskie, Poznan, 21 December 2010, coll. T. Tymcio, all material in AMU; 1 female (NPF) from same host species, USA: Massachusetts, Suffolk Co., Boston, 1969, coll. N. S. Brown, specimen in AMU; 2 females (PF) and 1 male from Zenaida macroura (Linnaeus) (Columbidae), USA: Georgia, Hall Co., Gainesville, February 1970, coll. J. B. Kethley, all material in FMNH.

Host range and distribution. Mesostenoxenous species associated with columbiform birds of the family Columbidae (Columbiformes): Columba livia Gmelin from USA and Poland (Bochkov et al. 2005; present paper), Streptopelia capicola (Sundevall) from South Africa (Lawrence 1959), S. senegalensis (Linnaeus) from South Africa (Skoracki & Hromada 2013), and Zenaida macroura (Linnaeus) [new host] from USA (present paper).
