Typematerial. 1♀ (or juvenile?) holotype, "Qal'eh Lakou", Kabul Valley , Afghanistan; 7.vii.1957, with original label " Pholcoides n. g., afghana n. sp., 1♀ Typus A 254 ", in Naturhistoriska Museet, Göteborg, Sweden, examined .

Note. Several genera of Filistatidae occur in Asia, and Pholcoides may well by a synonym of one of them. However, being no expert for Filistatidae, it is certainly preferable to leave this problem to a future revisor of Filistatidae .
