Canthidium subdopuncticolle Howden & Young, 1981: 81 [here transferred to the subgenus Canthidium]. Type locality: Panama: Panama Canal: Alajuela Lake (“Panama, Canal Zone (= Colon Prov.), Alhajuela”). Type material: Holotype male (USNM). Distribution: Panama (Howden & Young 1981; Solís & Kohlmann 2004) [according to Solís & Kohlmann (2004), the Martínez & Halffter (1986a) report of this species from Costa Rica is erroneous].
