Canthidium guanacaste Howden & Gill, 1987: 215 [here transferred to the subgenus Canthidium]. Type locality: Costa Rica: Guanacaste: Parque Nacional Santa Rosa (“ Costa Rica: Gnste., Santa Rosa Park”). Type material: Holotype male (CMNC—ex Howden collection). Distribution: Nicaragua and Costa Rica (Solís & Kohlmann 2004).
