Canthidium (Canthidium) laetum Harold, 1867
Canthidium laetum Harold, 1867: 53a [here transferred to the subgenus Canthidium]. Type locality: Mexico (“ Mexiko ”). Type material: Holotype male [the specimen was sent to Harold by a teacher named Schmidt from Hamburg. If it was housed at the Zoologisches Museum der Universität Hamburg in 1943, it was probably destroyed by the World War II Allied bombing of that city (Klapperich 1948; Weidner 1976), as discussed by Solís & Kohlmann (2004)]. Distribution: From Mexico to Costa Rica (Kohlmann & Solís 2006a).
