19. Anthoceros L. emend. Prosk.

Radial spore, circular to subtriangular in polar view, with rounded angles and slightly convex sides. Heteropolar, trilete with long arms, bifurcate at the extremities on the proximal face. Coarse reticulate distal face, with irregular echinate muri. Conspicuous echinae bifurcated or trifurcated. Reticulum gradually decreases towards the proximal face, disappearing in the central portion. Equatorial diameter ca. 50–60 µm (x 57 µm). Ecological data: plant found mainly in temperate regions, in shady and humid places, and on margins of small water reservoirs or narrow spaces between rocks (Parihar, 1962).
