Material examined. Brazil, RJ, Macaé: 1 male and 2 females, Rio Macaé (Macaé de Cima), 8.iii.2002, RWH, RJB, HP, ALP.
Remarks. This species was described by Froehlich (2002). The length of the male forewings collected in Macaé is 9 mm and 11–12 mm in the females. The head and pronotum have a characteristic color pattern. The head is medially brownish and partially laterally pale; pronotum is brown. The membrane of the wings is milky. The body is pale. This is the first record of the species for Rio de Janeiro State. The species can also be found in São Paulo and Paraná States (Froehlich, 2002; Froehlich, 2004; Bispo & Froehlich, 2004a).
