Anacroneuria simulans Froehlich, 2010b: 59 .

Material examined. Brazil, RJ, Macaé: 1 male, Junção dos Rios Macaé e Bonito, 10.iii.2002, RWH, RJB, HP, ALP.

Remarks. This species was recently described by Froehlich (2010b) based on material collected in the Serra da Mantiqueira, São Paulo State. This represents the first record of the species in Rio de Janeiro State. In this specimen, the length of the male wing is 10 mm. As described by Froehlich (2010b), this species can be easily confused with A. subcostalis; however, it is darker and its penial armature has a larger apex, which is slightly curved.
