(replacement name for Acanthocnemis bimaculatus Philippi, 1865 / or Dilophus bimaculatus (Philippi, 1865) (nec Dilophus bimaculatus (Walker, 1856: 422)) .

= Acanthocnemis bimaculatus Philippi, 1865: 638 .

Holotype: female (no type specimens found in MNNC, MNHN, NHMUK, NMPC, or OUMNH, presumably lost; see Discussion), Chile, “with the former” (presumably collected at Santiago, in valley San Ramón with D. lateralis which precedes this species in the original account), but also “prov. Santiago and prov. Aconcagua.” Dist.: Chile. Región de Valparaíso: cited by Philippi (1865) from the old “Aconcagua Province” (now splitted in Petorca, San Felipe and Los Andes provinces); Región Metropolitana: Santiago Province (Santiago, in valley San Ramón).
