Specimens examined: Site 94­13, 2 females; Site 94­14, 18 females.

Ololaelaps mooiensis was described from soil near Potchefstroom (Ryke, 1962c). Other species of Ololaelaps are found in soil and leaf litter, and in the nests of small mammals (Bregetova & Koroleva, 1964), where they are presumed to be predatory.
