Thecomyia trilineata Hendel, 1932: 98 (type locality: Pozo del Tigre, Bolivia). — Marinoni et al. 2003: 16 (synonymy with T. lateralis).

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Costa Rica. 3 ♂, Heredia, OTS - Estación Biológica La Selva, near Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí, site LS-SW1 along Camino Circular Cercano (CCC), 10°25’28.8”N, 84°00’34.5”W, 35 m, swamp forest, 5 -8.IV.2015, yellow pan traps, MP & Anja De Braekeleer leg., sample code: CR/2015/171/ MP (abdomen removed, dissected, stored in microvial containing glycerine on same pin as specimen), INBio, pinned specimens. 1 ♂ (same data), deposited as an intact, dry, pinned specimen, coll.
