Thubdora kapangaensis Park & De Prins, sp. nov.

Type. Holotype: male, Coll. Mus. Congo, [Katanga], Kapanga, xii.1932, F.G. Overlaet, gen. slide no. CIS-7242/ Park, in RMCA.
Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from all the preceding new species by having a larger, distinct triangular orange-white costal patch on the forewing and the lateral erect scales of head light orange; and especially by the male genitalia with a broad valva, a less elongated cucullus, and a short, stout, and nearly straight aedeagus.
Description. Male (Figs. 6A, B). Wingspan 14 mm.
Head: Vertex dark brown, with light- orange erect scales laterally. Antenna shorter than forewing; basal segment elongated, light orange, slightly dilated apically; flagellum serrate, light orange, paler toward apex, finely ciliate ventrally. Labial palpus strongly upturned; 2 nd segment thickened, pale orange, shiny on both sides, dark brown ventrally; 3 rd segment as long as 2 nd segment, pale orange, but fuscous ventrally, sharply pointed apically. Thorax: Tegula and thorax dark brown. Hind tibia pale orange, shiny all around; tarsi orange white. Forewing slightly dilated distally; ground color dark brown evenly; costal patch large, triangular, orange-white; costa arched in basal 1/3, then nearly straight to costal patch; apex rounded; termen oblique, nearly straight; fringe concolorous, with indistinct orange-white basal line. Hindwing broader than forewing, pale grayish brown; fringe concolorous, with narrow orange-white basal line.
Male genitalia (Figs. 6C, D). Uncus with truncate caudal margin. Basal plate of gnathos with strongly convex caudal margin, exceeding to apex of uncus; median process relatively short, strongly bent downward beyond 2/3. Valva broad basally; cucullus relatively broad, not strongly upturned, densely haired on inner surface; costal margin slightly concave medially; ventral margin protruded basally; apex rounded. Juxta broad, semi-ovate with strongly convex caudal margin. Aedeagus nearly straight, about 2/5 length of valva; cornuti consisting of a bundle of setae, located beyond middle; apex rounded.
Distribution. DR Congo (Katanga).
Etymology. The species name is derived from the type locality.
