Taphura boulardi Sanborn, 2011

Taphura boulardi Sanborn 2011: 405 (type material in MNHN, FSCA, LSAM and AFSC).

Type locality. French Guiana, 41 km SE Roura on Kaw Rd., N04° 32.321’ W 052° 07.420’, 272 m.

Remarks. The claspers curve dorsally then form a terminal hook. This species has a similar appearance to T. minisculus, which is also from French Guiana, but T. minisculus has a body length of only 6 mm (Thouvenot 2012) compared to the body length of 11.3–13.0 mm for T. boulardi (Sanborn 2011) . The spots on the head are found only in this species and T. maculata .

Distribution. The species was previously only known from the type series collected in French Guiana (Sanborn 2011). The distribution of the species is expanded here to included Surinam.
