Comment. Hogna effera has three junior synonyms and has been placed in seven different genera. It was originally described by Roewer (1955) from Iran under three different names: Geolycosa altera Roewer, 1955 (♀), Geolycosa atroscopulata Roewer, 1955 (♂) and Lycorma nigrichelis Roewer, 1955 (♂ ♀). Although this species was well illustrated by Logunov (2020), some features were not shown, such as the tip of the cymbium with two ‘claws’, and the dissected bulb was never illustrated from different angles. Therefore, we provide figures of the palp and habitus of a freshly collected specimen, showing the characteristic carapace pattern and leg spination.
