Athalia sidamoensis Koch, 2007: 96 . Locus typicus: Ethiopia, Sidamo Province, Dilla. Holotype: ♂. Ethiopia, Sidamo Province, Dilla, 06°24’N 038°18’E, 4000 m, 25.III.1974, leg. V. O. DeMasi (CASC).

Additional Ethiopian material. Kaffa pr., 1850 m, 40 km W Bonga [ca 07°18'N 035°59'E], 09.IV.2007 (1 ♂), leg. J. Halada (OLML).

Distribution. Ethiopia.

Host plant. Unknown.

Remarks. Athalia sidamoensis is distinguished by infuscate wings from the other known species of the A. himantopus species group, except for A. taitaensis . The latter differs from A. sidamoensis by the conspicuously more infuscate wings and by the longer antennae (1.6 × as long as maximum head width; A. sidamoensis: 1.3 × as long as maximum head width).
