Moldenke (1981) divided this genus into three subgenera, one of these, E. ( Coleoguerina), was synonymized by Agrain and Roig-Juñent (2011) with Coscinoptera . From the remaining two subgenera only one has representative species in Argentina, E. (Coleomonrosa) .
