Remarks. This species is cosmopolitan; it has been introduced in various countries such as Australia and New Zealand for biological control purposes. It has been reported on a wide range of plants, essentially on shrubs and trees (mainly Malus domestica and V. vinifera). This species is an active predator of red and yellow spider mites in orchards and vineyards and of the grape thrips Drepanothrips reuteri (Uzel) in France (Serrano et al., 2004).
