Cordylancistrus perijae Pérez & Provenzano, 1996: 29, Fig. 2. Paratype (Fig. 38): ICN-MHN 17502 [ex MBUCV- V-21745] (1, 87.7 mm SL), Venezuela, Caño Colorado, 100 m from dam site, tributary of Palmar River, Lago de Maracaibo basin, ca. 10°37’12”N 72°25’34’W; C. Chaetostoma brevilabiatum Dahl, 1942: 82, figs. 1–2. Holotype (Fig. 39): ICN-MHN 6134 (181.9 mm SL), Colombia, Antioquia, Remedios, Volcán River, near junction with San Bartolomé River, tributary of Magdalena River, 600 m asl.; G. Dahl, 1936–1939.
Remarks: Ballen (2011) listed the holotype of Chaetostoma brevilabiatum in the appendix of the material examined, which had been assumed to be at MZLU. We suppose that Dahl requested and received a catalog number from MZLU but then he never sent the specimen. We found in the labels associated with the specimen the MZLU catalog number L36/3701, but at the MZLU database the holotype is under the catalog number L936/3701 (GBIF-Sweden 2016).
