Type depository. Lectotype, sex unknown (RBINS); 6 paralectotypes, sex unknown, 5 ex. (RBINS), 1 ex. (MCNG). Additional type material uknown. Described after "dozen" specimens (Candèze 1893).

Type locality. Indonesia: E. Java, Tengger Mts.

Distribution. Brunei, Indonesia (Java, Sumatra), Malaysia (Borneo: Sabah).

Remark. Although Candèze (1893) mentioned in the original description only Java (Tengger Mts.) as the type locality, later authors (Schwarz 1906, Schenkling 1927, van Zwaluwenburg 1959) mentioned also Sumatra in their works. Additionally, Schimmel (1996a) reported a syntype from the MCNG with the following locality data: " Sumatra, Si-Rambe".
