Biological remarks. During the visit of senior author in China in 2016–2017, the massive outbreak of A. planipennis was observed in Badalingzhen (Beijing, China) on Fraxinus velutina (Figs 5 A–5B) in 2016, and a year later, virtually all visited sites in Jilin province (Jilin City, Erdaozun, Jiaohe) with planted Fraxinus in urban areas were heavily infested (Figs 5D, 5F, 6 A–6D). Additionally, the couple of adults and galleries of A. planipennis were found in the Xiaolongmen National Park in Beijing province in the native habitat and on the native Fraxinus . Galleries (Figs 5C, 5E) bored by a single larva in living branches of smaller diameter (5–10 cm) were found on younger or shrubby ashes. Infested branches dried, but no tree mortality was observed.
