Axinoscymnus rai Kamiya, 1965

Axinoscymnus rai Kamiya, 1965: 101 .— Sasaji 1971: 115.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. glotticus Ren et Pang in male genitalia but can be distinguished from the latter by the yellowish brown elytra with dark brown markings at humeral and apical parts, and the penis guide widest at base, then gradually converging to a pointed tip in lateral view. In A. glotticus, elytra are brown without dark markings, and penis guide widest at base in lateral view, then sharply converging to a pointed tip (Fig. 5f).

Distribution. Japan.

Remarks. This species has not been reported since Kamiya (1965) described it from Ryukyus Islands. The type specimens are deposited in the collection of the Entomological Laboratory, Kyushu University, Japan.
