Cathormiocerus tenuiscapus Fairmaire, 1884
Material examined. 1 ♂, Morocco, 22 km east of Tanger, sifting of Sandsteilküste [steep sandstone-coast], niedr. Veget. [low vegetation], 35°50′17.3″ N 05°41′23.8″ W, 20m, 4.i.2001, P. Stüben lgt. (PSMG).
Remarks. Borovec (Borovec & Bahr 2008) examined 160 females of this species, from Spain (Cádiz) and Morocco (Tanger). The present record is the first discovery of a male. The male is externally indistinguishable from females except for the shape of the abdominal ventrites, with ventrite 5 shorter, apically broadly rounded and ventrites 1 and 2 shallowly concave, while females have ventrite 5 longer, subtriangular and ventrites 1 and 2 slightly convex. The penis is illustrated here for the first time (Figs 32, 33).
