Platyplectrus desertus Yefremova, 2008: 354 .
Diagnosis. Given by Yefremova (2008): “Toruli placed below the lower margin of eye. Propodeum smooth, with median carina, and 6 long setae on callus. External spur of hind tibia 1.55× as long as basitarsus. PMV 1.6× as long as STV. Thorax black, gaster brownish with yellow spot, antenna yellow with dark brown pedicel”.
Additional character s. Pronotum with carina. Occipital carina present. Scutellum smooth. POL 2× as long as OOL. Eyes asetose (Fig. 20). Vertex with long, sporadically distributed setae. F1 0.7× shorter than pedicel and 1.16× as long as F2, F2 as long as F3. Petiole slightly longer than wide. Face, clypeus and genae black (Fig. 20). Legs yellow with all coxae black, femora with brown spot dorsally in the middle, tibiae yellow, tarsi yellow (Fig. 19). Propodeum smooth with median carina.

Distribution. UAE (Yefremova 2008), Israel (Yefremova 2015) * Kenya. First record from Afrotropical region.
