Aegomorphus polystictus (Bates, 1885)

(Fig. 13)

Acanthoderes polystictus Bates, 1885: 379 .

Remarks. This species was described based on syntype males and females from Panama. Chemsak & Linsley (1970) designated a male as lectotype. Currently, it is known from Costa Rica and Panama (Monné 2023; Bezark 2023b; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023).

The female from Costa Rica examined by us does not have the distinct dark zig-zag band on the posterior half of the elytra: it is only slightly indicated. However, all the morphological features and remaining pubescent pattern are identical to those of the other examined specimens, perfectly matching that of the male lectotype. Therefore, we are sure it is just an individual variation.

Material examined. COSTA RICA, San José: San Isidro del General, 1 female, II.1993, F.D. Parker leg. (LGBC) .
