Types. Male holotype from Usina Hidrelétrica Engenheiro Sérgio Motta, Primavera (22°28’41.02”S; 52°57’29.24”W), São Paulo, Brazil, I–II.2000, Equipe IBSP leg., deposited in IBSP 29716 . Female. paratype with same data of holotype, deposited in IBSP 29715 .
Etymology. The specific epithet is a patronymic in memory of Lupercio de Oliveira, the first author’s father.
Diagnosis. Males of Otoniela lupercioi sp. nov. resemble those O. chica sp. nov. by having a robust, subtriangular ventral tegular projection (Fig. 6C). They differ by the large base of the ventral tegular projection, smaller retrolateral patellar apophysis and truncated embolar basal apophysis (Figs 4D, E; 5G, H). Narrow base of ventral tegular projection and oblique sperm duct in O. chica sp. nov. (Figs 6C, E). Females of Otoniela lupercioi sp. nov. are similar to those of O. chica sp. nov. by the ample epigynal atrium and rounded, large spermathecae (Figs 5I; 6F, G). They differ by the arc-shaped posterior border (Fig. 4G). Posterior lateral borders sub-rectangular and a anterior invagination in O. chica sp. nov. (Figs 6G, H).
