Otoniela aparecida new species

Types. Female holotype from Boa Vista da Aparecida (25°26’1.80”S; 53°24’26.88”W), Paraná, Brazil, 14.X.1998, Equipe IBSP leg., deposited in IBSP 21105 .

Etymology. The specific epithet is a toponymic in apposition and refers to the type locality.

Diagnosis. The female of Otoniela aparecida sp. nov. resemble those of the O. duovizinhense sp. nov. by the invaginated posterior border, toward the atrium (Figs 7G; 8C). They differ by the invagination conspicuous accentuated toward the atrium inverted V-shaped and separated spermathecae (Figs 8C, D). Epigynal plate inverted U-shaped lateral borders and together spermathecae in O. duovizinhense sp. nov. (Figs 7G, H).

Description. Female (IBSP 21105). Carapace orange with brown paramedian bands. Chelicerae brown. Endites and labium orange. Sternum cream (Fig. 8A). Legs orange, slightly darker distally on tibiae and metatarsi. Abdomen orange, with four dark brown intercalated longitudinal bands and ventrally cream, except spinnerets oranges (Fig. 8B). Total length 4.2. Carapace 1.55 long, 1.2 wide. Clypeus 0.03. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.08, ALE 0.10, PME 0.09, PLE 0.10, AME–AME 0.05, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.11, PME–PLE 0.10, ALE–PLE 0.06. Chelicerae 0.48 long, with six promarginal teeth and six retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: I—femur 1.1/ patella 0.5/ tibia 1.15/ metatarsus 0.75/ tarsus 0.5/ total 4.0; II—1.0/ 0.55/ 0.95/ 0.75/ 0.5/ 3.75; III—0.85/ 0.5/ 0.65/ 0.75/ 0.35/ 3.1; IV—1.25/ 0.5/ 1.1/ 1.25/ 0.5/ 4.6. Leg spination: I—tibia p0, metatarsus p0, r0; II—tibia p0, metatarsus p0, r0; III—tibia v0-1-0, p1-0-1, r1-0-1, metatarsus v0; IV—tibia v1-0-1, p0-1-1, r0-1-1, metatarsus v1- 1-0. Epigynum: atrium small; lateral borders curved, invaginated on the posterior margin (Fig. 8C). Internally with short copulatory ducts; seminal receptacles together with the spermathecae, but not visible through transparency; spermathecae large and oval; short fertilization ducts (Fig. 8D). Abdomen: length 2.35, epigastric furrow 0.65 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 0.9 from base of spinnerets.

Other material examined. Only the holotype.

Distribution. Known only to the state of Paraná, Brazil (Fig. 12B).
