Current name: Echinops sp. ( Asteraceae).

Note: Linnaeus included Echinops spinosissimus Turra (1765) in the synonymy of his name and E. spinosus is therefore illegitimate (see Greuter in Willdenowia 33: 58. 2003). However, both names appear to be in use for separate taxa (see e.g. Kozuharov in Tutin & al., Fl. Europaea 4: 213. 1976).
