Type locality. Cayenne, French Guiana.

Remarks. The species was recently assigned to Guyalna (Sanborn 2016) based on the three-segmented tarsi, rounded timbal cover apex (Fig. 2), pronotum shorter than mesonotum, head as wide or slightly wider than the mesonotum and slightly protruding eyes as listed by Boulard & Martinelli (1996) as characteristic of the genus Guyalna . In addition, the lack of a cruciform elevation notched in the form of a more or less open semicircle as listed by Delétang (1919) as characteristic of Dorisiana and the lack of a tapered, triangular timbal cover listed as characteristic of Dorisiana by Boulard & Marinelli (1996) mean the species cannot be assigned to Dorisiana . Body length 19–23 mm, fore wing length 33–37 mm.

Distribution. The species has been reported under various names from Brazil Colombia, Costa Rica, French Guiana, Nicaragua, and Panama (Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Boulard 1996; 1998; 2005; 2006; Martinelli & Zucchi 1997; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; 2014; Sanborn & Maes 2012; Maes et al. 2012).
